A Houston man was sentenced to 51 months in federal prison for his role in a debt relief business that defrauded clients.
Nathaniel Chilo, 23, also received a 70-month prison sentence last month in a separate case, according to federal prosecutors. He was ordered to pay a total of $130,176 in restitution for both cases.
Chilo ran a Houston-area debt relief business that used several different names, including C & N Recovery and Universal Restoration. Chilo and co-defendant Savannah Rae Williams, 25, admitted to fraudulently representing to an individual in Georgia that they had arranged a debt settlement, and instead used the funds for their own benefit.
Williams pleaded guilty in March and was sentenced to three years probation and ordered to pay $40,894 in restitution.
